Dakota Dukes
Administrative Coordinator
Dakota Dukes is native to Illinois, having grown up in the Chicago suburbs before moving to the city in 2013. Her awareness of the challenges many communities face began in high school, sparking a passion for creating meaningful change – especially through community outreach and the arts.
Music has always been central to her life. She studied music performance at Columbia College Chicago later transferred to Northeastern Illinois University, where she honed her craft. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, she began providing violin lessons to students in schools without funded arts programs. For her, it’s about opening doors, fostering creativity, and empowering young people to see new possibilities.
Her career reflects her commitment to making a positive impact. Starting in patient registration and administrative support within healthcare, she quickly realized her passion for helping others succeed. Prior to this role, she served as the Administrative Assistant for the Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation, where she began her journey in philanthropy. It was during this time that she grew a deeper appreciation for nonprofits and the power of unified teams working toward shared goals.
Outside of work, she prioritizes her wellbeing through violin, aerial silks, yoga, and sound baths.
